WHAT: "Wills for Heroes" is a free service that provides wills, living wills and healthcare and financial powers of attorneys to members of the Fire Chiefs and Firefighters Association of York County and their spouses/partners. At the conclusion of one-hour appointments with legal volunteers, participants will receive notarized legal documents.
WHEN: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Volunteers arrive by 9 a.m.), Saturday, September 10, 2016
WHERE: Penn State York Lee R. Glatfelter Library, 1031 Edgecomb Avenue, York
WHY: First responders selflessly devote their lives to serving their communities. Despite the inherently dangerous nature of their jobs, an overwhelmingly large number of first responders – approximately 80 – 90% – do not have wills (This figure is based on experiential data from state and national first responder organizations.).
